Tulsa native Michael Epps announced as Mayfest 2024 honorary chair
The University of Tulsa has announced that entrepreneur Michael Epps will serve as honorary chair of Mayfest 2024.
Mayfest has been a beloved Tulsa event for more than 50 years, showcasing the city's vibrant art, music, and culture and highlighting artists from Oklahoma and beyond in a multitude of artistic disciplines.
TU President Brad R. Carson said Epps’ experience as an entrepreneur and community leader will be an asset as Mayfest continues to evolve.
“As Mayfest continues to move into the future, it’s important for us to bring new voices to the table to help steer the vision for this beloved event,” Carson said. “Michael has an incredible track record as a visionary leader and entrepreneur, and we are excited for him to help ensure Mayfest 2024 is a banner year for the festival.”
Epps, who also serves on The University of Tulsa Board of Trustees, is known for his work as an entrepreneur and operations executive. Epps said he is excited to give back to his hometown.
“As an avid fan of music, art, and music festivals, I am honored to be asked to take on this leadership role with this iconic event,” Epps said. “Everyone from Tulsa knows and loves Mayfest for what it has been, but there is also massive potential for the festival to grow, and I’m excited to contribute whatever I can to that growth.”
Applications are open through the end of February for musicians, visual artists, and food vendors to be part of Mayfest 2024.
