Stay Gold x HAVEFUNORDiE

Stay Gold x HAVEFUNORDiE

In this painting, I incorporated Tulsa’s diverse cultural history. The bottom scene, from left to right, is past to present at the crossroads of Black Wall Street. Two figures are in the center foreground representing the streetwear of Tulsa, and to the right, a local fighter stands tall with the title belt showing strength. Deep in the background, we have another representation of Tulsa’s “T-Town Clowns.” Above, a tornado spins through the background to show Oklahoma can always weather any storm and come back from it through our community. Filigree flowers are placed at the corners to represent “April showers bring May flowers.” Up top in the foreground, we have a representation of our rural countryside with a windmill and oil pumps. Above left is The Outsiders house; a staple of Tulsa and the cause of “Stay Gold, Ponyboy.” Front and center, “Stay Gold” is tattooed on the knuckles representing our amazing collection of tattoo artists and the tattooed clients in Tulsa. In their hands are a pencil and paintbrush for our Artist community. Top right is the famous “Golden Driller Statue”—this represents our sculptors in the community.
